The story so far

Since its foundation in 1998, the Trust has successfully sponsored 950 children. Of those, 450 children have now completed their studies, having accomplished their O Levels, A Levels, or university degrees.

Over the last 26 years, we have made grants totalling £1,260,494 in support of sponsoring children and projects such as providing library books, school desks, computers, and audiovisual equipment. Total administrative costs amounted to £23,213. This represents a mere 1.81% of our income, which is covered by our general funds. We deduct nothing from the amount donated by sponsors to support individual children.

Today and beyond

We now sponsor over 400 children in Sri Lanka and over 32 children in Nepal. Among them, 37 students are studying in universities and other institutes of higher education.

This year we also have over 10 children waiting to enter higher education. We also support a variety of projects with funds to meet a specific need. In addition to Sri Lanka, we fund children and projects in Nepal and Kenya. The needs are enormous, but with the generous support of our donors, we can make a significant difference to the lives of many children from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.

Words from the children

These are comments we have received from some of the children we have sponsored:

"I wish to express my sincere thanks to you for the kindness and generosity extended to me for years until now. Your helping hand was one of the greatest secrets that brought me here... My father passed away in an accident in 2006 when I was just eleven... Your freewill offerings help me to manage my class fees as here in Sri Lanka, the support class teachers are demanding a relatively high price for their service. Me and my mum gratefully appreciate your kind heart helping with a prospect of no return. The only thing I can do is to study well making my mother’s efforts and your generous help worthwhile. I am working my best for that."

Lishani Gayangani

"I want to thank you and express my gratitude for your financial support for my education. For the last few years, your financial support has been successfully helping me and my sisters’ education. After the death of our father, my mother faced enormous difficulties for us to continue our studies. Your support helped to reduce her financial burdens. Now I am sitting for GCE A Level exams. My sister is sitting for GCE O Levels this year. My elder sister is studying at the university. The success of the education for the three of us is due to your support. On behalf of all the family members I want to say thank you and we hope you will be able to continue to offer support so that we can all complete our education."

Kusumalatha Menike

"I think if I call you a god, I am 100% correct. Because I am a poor student. My father is a farmer and my mother doesn’t have an occupation. So they can’t spend big capital on my studies. So your scholarship helps me so much... I wish that all your dreams come true and all targets become successes."

Your support

These tremendous achievements would not be possible without the generous support of our donors. Therefore, by becoming a donor, you will directly contribute towards the academic success of children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to reach their full potential due to poverty.

Enabling a child to succeed will also have a positive impact on their family and their wider community.

To allow us to continue accomplishing these achievements, please sponsor a child today.
